| I posted last week some insanely cheap wood. The man who purchased did not remove all of it. I need it all gone by this weekend. $40. located in Roswell, Ga. Most is oak 4x4's and 1x10-12. Notice rough sawn post and planks on saw horse. some smaller pieces for edging and if you do lathe work. |

Thanks Jim, yes I figured that was the problem. One of the problems I've had is the manual isn't exactly clear on how to make the adjustment. I've spoken to tech support and they were helpful so now it's a matter of getting it done.
Thanks again,
Stan |

Hi Stan, I bet you've already figured this out.
When this has happened to me in the past, it's been because one or more of the knives is too far towards the end of the cutter head. I get so focused on the height of the knife that I don't notice it's slipped toward the front or rear of the machine.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks, Jim Dillon |

| I have a friend who needs to sell her deceased grandfathers lumber in storage. There is between 800-1000 bf of oak, cedar, cherry, etc... ( no pine ). most seem to be 1x12x8, 4x4x8-10 oak, and different lengths for edging or turning. I can send pictures or meet at storage. She has asked me for help since I love woodworking. I would take it, but I would then have to find a new place to live due to my wife kicking me out! (jk) Price is $275. Location is Roswell. |

| Correct me if I'm wrong. The problem isn't with the 70° but with getting a total 120° mitre at the ends of the beams, right ? I assume you're tilting the blade at 30° and setting the mitre gauge at 70° to cut half your end mitre, but you can't tilt the blade the opposite way. Why not reverse the angle of the mitre gauge and run it through using the same blade tilt ? ..Or is that not the problem, at all ? |

Hi Yonak,
Thanks for your reply.
I am trying to build a tetrahedron. So you are right about the 120 angle. Basically three beams should come together in 120 and 70 (2x35) So for the first cut is is easy to set the machine. But because my miter saw can only tilt to the left I can not rotate the beam 180 degrees. The only option seems rotate the beam 90 degrees but if I then try to setup the machine 120 and 35 these values seem complete nonsense. Btw the picture above are wrong. These cuts are based on 60 degree angles but in a tetrahedron this should be 70.
I am not sure this explains my problem any better but if you have any questions please shoot.
Thanks so far.

Hello,
I am a new member to the forum. I was wondering if I needed to be a member to attend the next meeting on September 13th? I live on the southside of Atlanta, and I wanted to see what the Guild is about before committing to the membership.
Thanks for any information.

| Mianch, please help me understand the problem. Is it that three boards should meet to make a corner ? If so, the total mitre of each board should be 120°. It looks to me like the mitres of the boards in the picture is 90°, although I realize pictures can sometimes be deceiving. |

Hi Woodworkers,
I was hoping one of you guys or girls could help me with this. I am trying to build a tetrahedron. But I'm having a problem with calculating the angles. 60 degrees angles with 120 degree angles for the apex points. But when I put it together the 60 degree angles get lost. Please have a look at the pictures that might explain the problem a bit more.
Thanks.

| I have been in the guild for more than six years. One of the best times I have had with guild members was at the toymaking workshop last year. About 20 or so guild members got together at Woodcraft's workshop and made about 100 or so toys for hospitalized kids. This year it is on August 22, from 10 am to 4 pm. Lunch provided. High skill levels not required. You really get to know some guild members!! This is a Sunday workshop. Please do yourself a favor and come to help. |

Stan!
Thanks for the offer - that's about 50 mile drive for me - and if it winds up being all I have available - I'll be there! -
I've got a 10" Craftsman that can handle 24" comfortably if I had a level garage - and a regular woodworking layout. To try it on my setup with rollers to support the full plywood sheet takes a lot of time and luck to get things to feed straight and true.
I'll ping you a little later next week to set up a time if something closer doesn't get offered. Your generous offer is appreciated.
Thanks, -Sean |

gone pending pickup
WT-150 from Highland Hardware. (woodturners - 150")
Got this a few years ago at the ww show. It sat collecting dust until recently when I went to use it and realized I was given one that doesn't fit my BS.
It's been so long I'm not even going to try and exchange it.
So... free to good home.
I'm in Roswell and I will deliver... all the way to my driveway. http://woodworkersguildofga.org/blahdocs/Smilies/wink.png |

Hi!
I'm an occasional woodworker and more frequent blacksmith. I have a furniture project that I'm laying out. From some of the previous pieces I have built, my 10" craftsman table saw is not as precise or capable of handling full sheets of 3/4" B-2 red oak veneer plywood as I need to do this project right.
I'm looking for someone who could give me access to a quality table saw with a nice blade for slicing down about 6 or 8 sheets of 4x8. I'll have the cut list complete and laid out - so it should only take about 2 or 3 hours to run the full set.
I'm located in Doraville - but can travel to pretty much anywhere in the extended metro Atlanta region. My target date/time to run this is either the evening of Friday Aug. 13th or anytime on Saturday Aug. 14th.
I'm willing to pay for shop time or trade out for some custom forged drawer pulls or similar accessories.
Thanks, -Sean
